Year 10 Rugby

Southam V Coundon Court

A tough afternoon for the Year 10 team.

Expecting a weakened and small opposition, we didn’t take a full strength team, and were surprised to find and strong 21 man squad to play.

We held our own at the breakdown and were able to gain territory from putting together multiple phases of play. Their strengths were from open play, with some strong, fast players, and they were able to exploit this with a couple of earlier tries. We scored a well worked try through Josh L, but unfortunately, when pushing for a levelling score, their runners got away again to score before the break.

Looking to start the second half strongly and get back into the game, our intensity and energy levels were high, but with a stiffening breeze, slope and large squad of players against us, we struggled to stay with their runners and they quickly broke free, scoring multiple tries and taking the game decisively away from us.

We have a game next week at home against Harris on Wednesday, so hopefully with a full strength team, we’ll be able to put a better performance together.
