Southam year 10s went to Bablake School for their second game of the season. The game was extremely close with both teams scoring 5 in the first quarter.
Olivia C, Rose H and Katy B worked hard in defence and pressured the shooters, whilst Issie F, Bo C and Charley F kept the centre court moving, causing Bablake to make mistakes.
Alex L, Charlotte W and Ellie C upped the game in the second and third quarters scoring a further 12 goals for Southam! By the end of the third quarter the score was level again. Going into the fourth quarter the defence knew they had to stay tight and attack had to score at every opportunity.
Unfortunately, at the end of the fourth quarter Bablake took the lead with a final score of 17-20. A very tense last quarter with amazing play from both teams.
Charley Furey never stopped chasing down the ball and deservingly got player of the match for her efforts as WD, stopping the WA from feeding into the circle and regularly intercepting key passes.
Overall, a huge team effort with some positives and set pieces to work on for the rest of the season.
A very proud Miss MacLachlan. Well done!
