Year 10 Rugby

Southam v AGS

Battling Southam come up just short.

The Yr 10 Rugby Team put in their best performance of the season with a gritty and determined effort that ultimately came up just short against a talented and dangerous AGS side.

First half tries from Josh L. (2) and James P. had us ahead by a score at the break, but with the game finally balanced. Southam were looking strong whilst driving forward with the ball, but AGS dominated in the scrum and threatened on the break with some fast and evasive runners.

The tit for tat scoring continued in the second half. Josh L. pouncing on an opportune moment to complete his hat-trick, but as time ran down we needed one last score to clinch the game.

Our forwards battled to a man, pushing the AGS defence back in wave after wave of attacks. I last minute penalty gave us one last platform to push for the AGS line from. We got to within 5 metres, but in the end couldn’t quite get the ball down.

The final score was 24-26, but the whole team can hold their heads high for an excellent overall performance, and look forward to our next game against Camp Hill on Sat 10th Nov.
