Spanish Trip Day 4

After breakfast this morning it was time for our trip to Port Aventura theme park. Students have had a great day enjoying all of the rides and attractions. The queue lengths were fairly short today and everybody took full advantage of this. From the photos of the rides there are some classic rollercoaster faces (James Ware and Lucy Browne) however I don’t think there was any water left in the log flume once Mrs Spencer had been completely drenched. We have our final beach games this evening before getting ready to come home tomorrow.
Please check the webpage regularly for updates of how our journey is going as we will update this as regularly as we can.

Spanish Trip Day 3

After dinner yesterday we headed down to the beach for some volleyball and rounders, however team Turton did triumph over team Johnson! Round two this evening!!

A cooked breakfast this morning and then we have had a jam packed day of Gaudi culture in the heart of Barcelona. Firstly, we visited Parc Guell overlooking the city to see many sculptures which influenced Antoni Gaudi and his architecture. We then made our way to la Sagrada Familia, Spain’s most famous landmark. This year we went inside the cathedral and saw the fantastic renovations which are taking place and all the amazing stained glass windows and impressive arches. From there we made our way to the port area for lunch and then a quick walk up las ramblas to see the famous street performance and really get involved in the hustle and bustle of Spanish life. A great day but some tired feet now!!
Hopefully team Johnson will claim victory in this evenings beach games…

Spanish Trip day 2

After a cooked breakfast this morning we headed down to the beach for our annual team sand sculpture competition. This year was particular strong on the mermaid front and in their groups students had to build a sand sculpture and describe it in Spanish in a written paragraph in Spanish. Well done to Mrs Turton for an excellent sand mermaid helped by Emily Taylor Milne as part of the sculpture. Also a special mention to Alice Versey for an excellent description in Spanish!

Then it was on to Reus this afternoon, where the cool 31 degrees meant we just had to cool down with an ice cream. Students had a nice time exploring this interesting town, which is the birth place of Antoni Gaudi.

Beach volleyball after dinner and it is team Johnson for the win so fingers crossed. Then Barcelona tomorrow with parc guell and la sagrada familia.

Buenas noches
